Digitized Publications
The Appalachian State University yearbook, the Rhododendron, has been digitized and made available online. The yearbook was published annually between 1922-1992. Publication ceased from 1993-2002. Volumes were published in 2003, 2005, and 2006. Publication permanently stopped after the 2006 issue. Print volumes are available for viewing in the Special Collections Research Center reading room.
The Office of Institutional Research, Assessment, & Planning (IRAP) has provided online access to the Appalachian State University Fact Books, from the 1969/1970 academic year to the present.

The student newspaper, The Appalachian, is available both online and in print.

- Print versions are available for viewing in our reading room. Given the fragility of the early issues, researchers are encouraged to use the digitized versions.
The Dew Drop Catalog Editions and Bulletins have been digitized and made available online at DigitalNC. Issues date from 1905-2007: Appalachian State University catalogs. The Office of the Registrar has both the undergraduate and graduate bulletins archived online from 2003 to the present.
Appalachian State University Photographs
Seven-thousand photographs featuring the App State campus, students, faculty, and events were digitized and made available online as part of the Appalachian State University Historical Photographs Project. The photographs range in date from 1899-1992.
Oral Histories
The Appalachian State University Memory Project (2006-2017) served to document the physical, economical, social, administrative, and academic development of the university and the surrounding community.
